Job Details
Our client, a global supplier of machined components and systems to the world“s automotive industry enjoys an outstanding reputation for innovation, quality and customer service. To maintain their market leading position they are seeking to strengthen their maintenance team based. You will be responsible for daily maintenance on a wide range of CNC; NC & PLC controlled machines & equipment. Process experience requirements include cutting, milling, turning, broaching and general machining. In addition candidates would ideally have experience with automated conveyor systems, and robotic handling systems. Duties will include day-to-day mechanical faultfinding and rectification, planned preventative maintenance activities and process improvements. Ideal candidates will have come from a manufacturing maintenance/ Engineering background and have a minimum of 5 years experience. Have completed a time served Apprenticeship. Have previous machine tool experience. Hold recognised City & Guilds, Electrical or Mechanical ONC/HNC qualifications. In addition to the above, candidates who can demonstrate a proven track record in the following disciplines would be given first priority. Hydraulics / Pneumatics / clamping systems / jigs and fixture repair. All applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and to specific deadlines. This may involve working over and above the contracted hours as & when required. Good communications, interpersonal skills and the ability to work unsupervised are to be considered as essential personal attributes. The salary package including shift premium and supplement for working 42 hrs is £27k - 28k. You will probably be working the early shift i.e. 06.00 till 14.00 but there is a continental shift pattern in place rotating round days and nights.

Maintain product certification and approval via regular audits.

Possess a versatile skill base with the capability to apply these skills across a range of tasks.

Be fully conversant with all equipment, tools and measuring instruments associated with the manufacturing cycle.

Ensure manufacturing build times are met.

Check and complete all paperwork associated with the manufacturing data pack.

Maintain the highest level, workmanship standards and product quality.

Ensure compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturubng process.

Maintain safe working environment.

Maintain good housekeeping policy.

Communicate best practice to other team members.

The succesful candidate should be a team player who is able to demonstrate customer focus. They should also have proven planning and organising skills and be flexible and adapatble.
