| ISP Girvan, a leading manufacturer and supplier of specialty products and food ingredients, is currently seeking to appoint an Electrical Team Leader at their manufacturing plant in South Ayrshire. The post reports directly to the Engineering Manager. The plant produces and supplies hydrocolloids for applications in the Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical and Industrial industries.
Main duties of the role will include responsibility for the smooth operation of the Electrical function within the Maintenance Department. You will supervise our shift electricians and contractors with the responsibility of ensuring they work in a safe manner, adhering to Environmental, Health and Safety Regulations. You will also be responsible for progressing relevant capital work.
Key responsibilities will include to:
• Direct, supervise and manage Electrical Maintenance personnel to include Contractors as required. • Identify and resolve Maintenance and Production related problems to ensure the minimum disruption. • Plan and control Preventative Maintenance schedules and Capital work. • Ensure that all personnel under their control work in a safe manner at all times, where all safety rules are adhered to with no environmental risk.
Candidates will ideally be qualified to HNC level and have completed a recognised apprenticeship. Experience of instrumentation and process control systems would be advantageous. You should possess 16th Edition Electrical Installation certification, with a good understanding of Health & Safety Legislation to include permit to work and risk assessment. You will need to be a confident and effective communicator with good networking and relationship building skills and posses the flexibility to prioritise workload at short notice and work on your own initiative. PC literacy is essential and a clean full driving licence would be an advantage.
This is a day shift position; the normal hours are 38 hour per week. However, you will also be required to work on a rota to cover routine weekend maintenance supervisory duties.
