| A first class opportunity now exists for a Rotating Plant Engineer to join a leading integrated UK energy company. As a Rotating Plant Engineer, you will be based at a 2000MW coal fired power station with 4 500MW units consisting of Parsons/Siemens turbines and Babcock boilers. The focus of activities on the station is to achieve best practice in plant commercial availability and performance whilst meeting high standards of safety and environmental performance.
As a Rotating Plant Engineer, you will be responsible for all the Engineering activities on site connected with the turbines, auxiliary feed-system, cooling-water systems and associated plant. You will be responsible for managing and developing a small team of Engineers and Technicians and managing the engineering risks associated with the turbine plant and bringing forward schemes for improvements and replacement as appropriate. You will provide technical support to the Maintenance section and provide management of major works. You will ensure compliance with safety and environmental legislation and company directives and you will be involved in budget preparation and financial control as well as the identification of appropriate contracts, contract management and specification of spares. You will liaise with third parties to resolve plant technical problems and work to improve long-term plant performance. You will deputise for Section Head as required.
Ideally qualified to degree level in Mechanical Engineering and of Chartered status or working towards it, you will have a proven capability in mechanical engineering. |
