| My Client; a Tier 1 Automotive global manufacturer of high technology, high volume components. The need is recruit exceptional expertise within cost engineering. We would like to hear from cost engineers, senior cost engineers, VA/VE engineers, VAVE engineers, cost down engineers, TVM engineers.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, key responsibilities will see you developing bottom-up cost estimations that will support project targets. You will establish component part costs for new products and current model projects, including permits and engineering changes. You will agree with the purchase department the appropriate tooling for volume of particular projects and associated part cost.
Ideally educated to HND level or above in an engineering/manufacturing discipline, you will ideally have worked as either a cost engineer, senior cost engineer, VA/VE engineer, VAVE engineer, cost down engineer, TVM engineer. You will have experience in costing components and benchmarking activities, together with knowledge of Automotive Powertrain and/or Engines. You will understand VAVE techniques and the application thereof. You will be able to evaluate supplier quotations and be skilled in negotiating with suppliers.
