Job Overview We are seeking an engineer to support the Finishing Department which is based within the manufacturing site at Wrexham. A critical part of the casting cycle, the department is responsible for abrasive and mechanical cutting, linishing, water & grit blasting, heat treatment, straightening and setting and metal finishing. Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working closely within a small team, the person will be responsible for maintaining and developing engineering procedures within the Finishing Department. Job Specification · Generate and develop procedures and production methods for all new and existing products. · Initiate and drive productivity improvements through the design and development of jigs, fixtures and Lean Manufacturing initiatives. · Work closely with the finishing teams to review the setting and straightening procedures. · Perform CMM surveys. · Oversee the engineering process of new parts and samples through to completion. Involving all aspects of engineering throughout the process through to machining. · Ensure quality of product is maintained · Once sample product is approved, oversee products through to production. Desirable experience Ideally the person will be an apprentice trained engineer. Have some machining, tooling or metal forming/fabrication experience. We will not provide UK work permits. Please ensure you are a UK/EU resident or have a relevant permit.
