| We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer with the breadth and ambition to tackle a range of projects all aimed at improving our competitiveness. Your role will be to reduce costs, leadtimes and inventory and to improve quality, on-time-delivery and flexibility.
The core of the role will be improvements in our manufacturing facility, including workflow improvements, materials handling, tooling, reducing rejects, production support, new product introduction, health and safety improvement and work planning and control. Lean techniques will be the watchword throughout. However, you will also be providing support for supply-chain improvements including the development of new suppliers locally and overseas.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate success in achieving such improvements in previous roles in a mechanical engineering environment. Qualifications in production engineering would be useful, but more important are practical knowledge and a thorough understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles. Some experience of working with suppliers to improve quality and develop processes would also be useful.
You will have a good knowledge of computerised manufacturing planning systems and be IT literate. Above all, we are looking for a willingness to work on a range of projects, an ability to work with people at all levels and a determination to succeed.
